Some thoughts on the current state of things in our world

We were already saying “it’s too much” two years ago. Now we’re saying “it’s too much” with dulled speech, while watching a continuous stream of war crimes on TV.

What can we do? Where do we go from here?

Color and texture are always a critical part of design in general, so I love foraging and hiking just to see what shades of the season are really drawing my attention.

Today, the first of a brand new year, I recommit myself to living in the light. Living my truth, the best I can. Recommit to taking each moment as the gift it is and infusing it with hope and sincerity. With kindness and respect toward all living things.

Put on some soft music, wrap yourself up on the sofa, and pour a cup of chai tea. And welcome the short days of December deep into your soul. They will pass quickly - they always do.

Small events in one’s life that act as turning points. I’ve had many of them, and the older I get, the more I seem to dwell on them and long to record them. Because small stories are often about big ideas.

I carry around ideas with me everywhere. In my head, in the car, in my hands, on my back.

The heart of creativity is not in its grand spurts of brilliance, but in the tenacity of its sustainability over time.

When you choose for your art, you choose for a higher expression of yourself.

These days I find myself worrying less about creating things to please others, and thinking more about creating things that express my point of view now.

One of my favorite things about the beautiful, peaceful place I live is that in the mornings, I can wake up, walk outside while the sun's coming up, hear only birds singing, catch the dewy scent of the air and breath in.
